Apple dominates app market, Android trails far behind

As the debate over Apple's possible antitrust troubles heats up, some useful new data from IHS via CNET on market share in the app market. Apple's iTunes store dominates with almost 83% of all revenues, though down from 93% in 2009. Google's Android Market trails far, far behind Apple and even ranked behind app stores of Nokia and Research in Motion. Overall, the app market almost tripled, reaching $2.2 billion last year.
