Internet smarty Rex Hammock, who writes the endlessly useful RexBlog, has a gift for coining new tech terminology. Back in 2005, noticing that big companies were buying little companies just to get the talent, he made up the term "acqhire." Yesterday, the New York Times used the word in a front page story about acqhiring. Rex has a post up about the term's origin and how he tracked its spreading usage.
