The Orange View (on hiatus) Because Apple is great but it isn't perfect

The awfulness that is the New York Times iPad app

Famed media blogger Jim Romenesko of the Poynter Institute on the excrement that is the New York Times iPad app:

For three weeks now I’ve been trying to read the New York Times from its iPad app without any luck. It tries to load for about 30 seconds, then crashes. I deleted the app and reinstalled it; that didn’t work. I rebooted the iPad; again, that didn’t solve the problem. Then I checked the App Store reviews and saw that others were having problems, and that the app had received one-star reviews from 495 of the 659 reviewers. I’ll second what this critic says: “The most annoying thing is that no one at the NY Times seems to be reading these reviews and fixing the problems.”
