The Orange View (on hiatus) Because Apple is great but it isn't perfect

Apple does not love its customers, Mac mini edition

From Macworld's review of the otherwise awesome new line of Mac minis:

"In other words, while bumping the $599 Mac mini to 8GB of RAM and a faster, bigger hard drive through Apple will set you back $450, going the DIY route will cost as little as $150."

-Macworld, August 3, 2011

To be sure, it does not sound like replacing the hard drive is the easiest do-it-yourself upgrade of all time.
