Bill Gates pushes back on the Jobs’ critique
Steve Jobs was in his all-too-frequent ungracious, self-deluding mode when he spoke to biographer Walter Isaacson about Bill Gates. Gates offered a more balanced view in an interview on ABC's "This Week" show. Here's part of what the Microsoft founder said about Jobs:
And so the fact that various times he felt beleaguered, he felt that he was the good guy, we were the bad guys, very understandable. I respect Steve, we got to work together, we spurred each other on, even as competitors. None of that bothers me at all.
One problem with a lot of the analysis and coverage of the Jobs biographer is tendency to overlook or minimize Jobs ill treatment of others. The guy was not a role model.
